Each year, more than 2,000 students enroll in more than 160 Cardinal Courses, or community engaged learning courses, where they participate in projects with community partners. A critical component of student preparation for these experiences involves the consideration of the ethical dilmmas that can arise when universities engage in community-based work. The purpose of this mini-grant is to support faculty and graduate students in developing curriculum materials (lessons, exercises, modules, case studies, videos, etc) that directly address the ethics of community engagement. Recipients will be expected to share developed materials so that over time we can curate a library of ethics curricula across diciplines and course-types. Instructors may focus on any aspect of ethical prepration relevant to the particular community engaged component of their course. Preference given to proposals that involve community partners in the design, or include community partner perspectives in the materials.
