The Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance is an interdisciplinary research initiative whose mission is to transform human health on a global scale through the discovery and translation of the underlying principles which govern human performance.
The Agility Projects are seed grants to fund early stage research that will advance the mission of the Alliance. We are seeking 1-page Letters of Intent (LOI) from faculty across campus for grants up to $100,000 in total costs per year for up to two years.
This funding opportunity will support early stage research projects that study human performance, broadly defined. We welcome proposals working to further our knowledge of the science of human performance, including both physical and cognitive performance. Proposals for fundamental scientific exploration and translational work are welcome. We encourage projects that advance our understanding of female athlete health and performance.
We highly encourage teams composed of members that use different methodologies and work in different disciplines. We also welcome proposals focused on teaching and other outreach activities designed to strengthen and educate the human performance community on campus and beyond. Faculty from all departments across the university are welcome to apply.
Letters of intent are due by Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 11:59 PM PDT. Selected LOIs will be invited to submit a full proposal.
How can the funds be used?
Funds may be used for personnel (faculty, undergraduate or graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, research assistants or staff), supplies, small equipment, travel, or seminar and symposia needs. Faculty salary support is subject to the NIH salary cap. Budgets must also factor in Stanford’s 8% infrastructure charge, assessed to all direct costs in the proposal.
Complete details for full proposal submission will be provided after LOI selection.
