Once a year (June-August) Stanford Alumni Association, on behalf of the Stanford Associates Board of Governors, invites campus departments to submit proposals for Stanford Associate grants. These grants are designed to provide one-time or seed funding for projects that uniquely engage alumni volunteers and participants in their work.
In October, the Stanford Associates Board of Governors convenes to select grant recipients from submitted proposals. Grant recipients are notified in early November. A list of previous grant awardees can be viewed on our website.
Program priorities
Engages Stanford alumni as volunteers and participants in new and innovative ways.
Is unique or impactful.
Requires funding because budgeted funds are unavailable.
Is a one-time project or shows potential for growth to become an ongoing program.
Priority alumni groups: grand-only alumni; young alumni (<10 years out), and underrepresented alumni populations

This opportunity is open to all departments for any Stanford staff and faculty.
