Stanford’s eWEAR-X Chen Ideation and Prototyping Lab (IPL) invites proposals from Stanford faculty with projects that would benefit from assistance with the design of electronics. The grants support prototype development of health/medical and assistive devices, including sensors, robotics, and human interfaces.
Eligibility:
Each project team needs a Stanford faculty member as the PI. The faculty member will serve as the main point of contact.
Requirements:
Selection Criteria: Proposals with a realistic objective to produce a demo within 9 months are much preferred. The work to be done should fit with capabilities the Chen IPL offers. Projects are encouraged to have bold, creative innovation with a path to technical success and real-world impact. Strong proposals will advance wearable and implantable applications and foster interdisciplinary collaboration.

How can the funds be used?
Support includes access to The Chen IPL lab facilities and dedicated lab staff technical support time to help with electronic circuit board design needs. Use of Lab starts from June 1, 2026 - February 26, 2027
Each seed grants will receive up to 9 months and up to $10K for their project.
